Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), EOW, Mukesh Gupta while addressing a press conference here on Thursday said that investigations so far have unearthed cash amounting to Rs7.61 crore amassed by Alok Kumar Agrawal.‘Now his father and brother would be also booked under Section 13, 1(A) of Prevention of Corruption Act,’ the ADG said.

“During the probe, we found a diary was that had record of some money transactions with code word ‘main bank’ and ‘home bank’. This diary alone has record of Rs6.70 crore,” Gupta said.According to him, during 2003, Alok Agrawal had total property valued at Rs3 lakh which by 2014 reached Rs11.20 crore. Agrawal had taken insurance policy of Rs55 lakh each on name of his wife and son, he said.

Alok’s brother Pawan used to run a small shop and has an engineering degree. After Alok got posted in Bilaspur, he called his brother to Bilaspur and within a few years, Pawan became Class-A Contractor. Pawan used to get tenders valued in crores of rupees, the ADG told reporters.Alok’s father had identified himself as businessman of ‘Mahul leaves’ and also a farmer. However, no farm land has been found on which farming is being done by his father, Gupta mentioned.

The EE had purchased shares in the name of his mother. On record, he had shown purchase of shares worth Rs1 lakh and later on selling for Rs12 lakh just after one year. Similarly, he had shown purchasing shares worth Rs4 lakh and later selling for Rs27 lakh just in a year. It does not seem real as share market had witnessed bad phase last year, the ADG said.
