The Chhattisgarh government has initiated action based on the guidelines issued by the Union government on the new strain of Sars-CoV-2 virus being reported from the United Kingdom, Health and Family Welfare Minister T.S. Singh Deo said on Thursday.
All preventive measures are being taken, Singh Deo told the Assembly on the fourth day of the winter session.
He said that as the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) is in English, it is being prepared in Hindi for the state. Meetings are being held through video-conferencing to alert all health workers and ground staff.
Singh Deo said those who reached Chhattisgarh from November 25 to December 23 from the UK have been asked to go for home isolation or report to the nearest health facility.
Interacting with the media, he said 91 people have arrived during the period out of which 40 are of Raipur, 34 of Durg and 17 from other districts. If anyone is detected positive during home isolation, they will be shifted to an isolation ward.
