Minister for Scheduled Tribe & Scheduled Caste Development and School Education Kedar Kashyap has issued directives for all school managements to ensure that all their buses compulsorily have a male and a female attendant.
Immediately after assuming charge, Kashyap said that generally there is only the bus driver and attendant found in the school buses.
Since a large number of school children travel in the school buses, it is now mandatory to have at least one female teacher deputed on every bus and in case of girls schools a female teacher and a female attendant to take care of particularly girl children in the buses, he stated.
Kashyap stated that it is mandatory for the teachers in a bus to be present till the first child boards the bus and last child embarks from the bus.The Minister has directed strict implementation of the directive by the officials while stating that the information is also being forwarded to the Police Department.
