Meanwhile, All India Mahila Congress Chief Shobha Oza while addressing a press conference here later in the day, questioned why State and National Women’s Commission did not take the cognizance of the matter although it was published in the newspapers.
She demanded security for the family of Bhilai gang-rape victim and also for the prosecution witness nurse who was undergoing treatment after the suicide attempt. Earlier, some Youth Congress workers created ruckus in Congress Bhawan after they were stopped by CGPCC In-charge General Secretary Girish Dewangan to hold the meeting.
A written complaint was later on filed with Kotwali police station by Dewangan over the incident.
According to the police, Dewangan in his complaint has maintained that Youth Congress members shouting slogans in alleged support of former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi damaged the posters of party’s National President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi.
