Information of all highways including State and National highways passing through Chhattisgarh will soon be available online.
In addition to this, information about buildings, culverts and bridges constructed by Public Works Department (PWD) will also be available on the PWD website.
PWD Minister, Rajesh Munat issued instructions to the officers in this regard during a review meeting held at Chhattisgarh Infotech and Biotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) headquarters on Tuesday. Munat reviewed the departmental online program and instructed to provide online information of roads and buildings by August 15 this year.
"Information related to cost of all constructions by PWD including roads, construction agency, construction time, and progress report should be made available to the departmental website," he said.
Munat observed the Geographic Information System (GIS) prepared by CHiPS at the data center. Chief Executive Officer of CHiPS AM Pariyal informed the Minister that the work of providing online information about constructions including roads, culverts, buildings by PWD has been expedited with GIS.
Munat said that the database provided by CHiPS will be very helpful in creating a network of roads in the State. The system will provide updated information about construction works and its progress. He instructed to regularly update the system and proper training should be provided to the departmental officers for the purpose.
