All future Assembly, lok Sabha and bypolls in Chhattisgarh will now be conducted using EVMs with ‘Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail’ (VVPAT) as per the decision of the Election Commission of India, a Press release issued by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer here informed on Friday.
The minute a voter presses on the button on EVM in front of the name of the candidate, a printout accordingly will get generated in VVPAT which will show that the voter has cast his or her vote to only that candidate to which he or she had voted by pressing the button.
The printout after pressing the button gets deposited inside the machine.
