According to the new rules, harassment is a non-bailable offence. The incident gained much spotlight as Chief Minister Raman Singh had condemned the attack. The incident of beating up a woman in broad daylight had sent shock waves among the citizens. The police was reluctant to register victim’s complaint.
The complaint was filed only on the directions of inspector general of police JP Singh. Assistant sub-inspector of police Sunita Kanwar had to face action because of the delay.
