Chhattisgarh will observe Akshaya Tritiya festival as “Mati Pujan Diwas” to protect Mother Earth.
An official statement on Thursday said that instructions to celebrate the festival statewide have been issued.
On this occasion, a state-level event will be organized in Raipur and programmes will be organized across the state.
People will be inspired to take a pledge to protect the Mother Earth. Akshaya Tritiya, which falls on May 3, is also known as 'Akti' in Chhattisgarh.
The Chhattisgarh government is taking several initiatives to promote organic farming which includes promoting the use of vermicompost in place of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
Taking this objective forward, a campaign will commence on Akshaya Tritiya this year to celebrate "Mati Pujan Diwas" in the state.
The programmes will also be organized at all Gram, Janpad and District Panchayats.
