Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi had become ‘indispensable’ for the Gandhi family as he might be in the know of some ‘secrets’ about the family, said BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi here on Friday while addressing an election rally.
“He (Jogi) had been losing and the Congress party is riddled with factions but the AICC president can’t do without him,” he said.Modi said that the former Chief Minister might be in the know of some secrets about the Gandhi family which had made the latter “fear him.”He said that the Congress party will not be able to reach a ‘double digit’ figure of seats won in any state. “There will also be states where the Congress party will not be able to open its account by winning a single seat.”
Praising Chief Minister Raman Singh, Modi said that the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues go to the villages and provide an account of the work done by them and those that are in progress in the State.“They (CM and the Cabinet colleagues) apologize to the people for the work which had been incomplete and not just promise to complete them but also get the work done,” he said.
Modi said that AICC president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi move around the country questioning the account of work done by him but have they ever provided the account of work done by them, Modi asked.
“I am surprised that they (AICC president and vice-president) are in power at the Centre but ask for account of work done from Narendra Modi,” he said.launching his attack on Rahul Gandhi, Modi said that the latter was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and cannot know the pain of the poor.
“The Congress party has clearly stated that poverty is ‘a state of mind’ and the party’s vice-president also believes in it,” he said.
