Ajit Jogi lost all support for Chhattisgarh bandh call: Raman

Published on:

Chief Minister Raman Singh on Thursday said former Chief Minister and President of Chhattisgarh Janata Congress (Jogi), Ajit Jogi should have expressed condolence over the death of youth Yogesh Sahu rather than taking to the streets with a 'Chhattisgarh bandh' call.

The former Chief Minister lost all support for the bandh call from the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industry and also from the Sahu community, he added.

On the other hand, former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi said the Government made house arrest of all the leaders and workers on Wednesday night to make the bandh unsuccessful.

He said the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the first time in its history backed out from supporting a bandh call by announcing its decision during the night hours.

"The police personnel did not have the courage to arrest me when I came out to join the agitation. I was neither allowed to move forward nor move backward. Police personnel said they will not arrest me but also not allow me to move forward", he added. Is the ruling regime so scared of me that it started arresting my party's people a night before to make the bandh call unsuccessful, Jogi asked.
