Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi on Monday reached a local court for filing a case against the Delhi based English newspaper for publishing reports and releasing audio tapes in which he and his son Amit Jogi are being reportedly heard ‘fixing’ Antagarh by-polls for ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chhattisgarh.

In a separate move, Jogi also wrote a letter to the Chairman of Central Election Authority of the Congress party, M Ramachandran and demanded holding of internal party elections for selecting the office-bearers for Chhattisgarh’s Congress unit.

Jogi accompanied by his supporters reached the District Court and appeared in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Uday lakshmi Parmar and submitted his petition.

later on, talking to reporters, Jogi said that the news report on audio tape published by the Newspaper has allegedly damaged his public image and hence he was forced to act.

Jogi will now re-appear in court alongwith witnesses related with case on January 19.

Notably the former Chief Minister had already registered an FIR with Civil lines Police station against the newspaper.
