The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) opened its ‘Day Care Unit’ at its Trauma Centre in the city on Thursday.
The Unit currently has five beds and the patients admitted for treatment in there would be discharged the same day. A large number of patients were seen registering to get the treatment on the very first day of the opening of the Unit. On the other hand, an estimated 200 patients are visiting the AIIMS OPD every day since it was opened in the Medical College building on June 5 this year.
Initially, the OPDs for General Medicine, General Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopedics , Paediatricts, ENT, Dental, Ophthalmology and Neurology were opened. later, the departments of Dermatology and Pulmonary medicine were opened at the institute.
