The ‘Prosthesis and Orthosis Workshop’ will be held at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here on March 9, starting at 4.00 pm.
Prof. Dr Nitin M. Nagarkar, Chief Executive Officer and Director, AIIMS Raipur, will be the Chief Guest. The Special Invitee is Shahla Nigar, the Chhattisgarh State Disability Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Social welfare, an official communication said on Saturday.
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, AIIMS, now caters to all persons with disabilities as well as patients having rheumatological, neurological or chronic painful conditions.
The Prosthesis and Orthosis Workshop will help usher in newer research in the field.
On the inaugural day, the first few patients will receive appliances (artificial limb or caliper) free. After inauguration, the workshop will charge minimally to recover only the cost of raw materials.
