The Congress on Tuesday alleged that the Chhattisgarh BJP was now evoking emotions in Bastar after disrupting peace and harmony in Kawardha district.
In a statement, Sushil Anand Shukla of the party's Communication wing said former Minister Kedar Kashyap and several other BJP leaders tried to forcefully close down shops on Tuesday in support of the BJP-sponsored 'Bandh'.
The leaders terrorized businessmen in Jagdalpur, he said.
Senior BJP leaders in the state supported the misbehaviour by Kashyap and others, showing they are working on an agenda of disrupting peace in the state, he said.
