nA senior Agriculture Development Officer (ADO) was given a notice for adopting a careless attitude towards works done under the Godhan Nyay Yojana in Sitapur block of Chhattisgarh's Surguja district.
While chairing a district level weekly review meeting in the district, District collector Sanjiv Kumar Jha found serious lapses in monitoring of vermicompost manufacturing in Sitapur Janpad Panchayat, a government statement said on Tuesday.
After the Collector found that vermicompost was not manufactured according to set standards and training, he issued a show cause notice to the Senior ADO, Sitapur Janpad.
The vermicompost should be manufactured as per consultation with the officers of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), the Collector said.
Dung, garbage and worm should be put as per the guidelines set by the KVK officers, he said.
He asked the Agriculture Department Officers to set up a team and regularly monitor the preparation of the vermicompost in Gauthans.
He warned the officers that if any lapse in quality control or monitoring was detected, strict action would follow, the communique said.
The Collector asked the department to take serious action against erring officers who show less interest in the project.
