Admn about to initiate massive child labour survey

The district administration here has started preparing the ground work for a massive survey of child labourers in the rural and urban areas of the district to be taken up from March 16 to 25.

A meeting of the district-level officials was convened in the presence of District Panchayat CEO Satovisha Samajdar and Additional Collector Onkar Yadu for selecting the master-trainers for the training programme of the surveyors.

The meeting also constituted a Committee for the rehabilitation and welfare of the child labourers.In the meeting Additional Collector Onkar Yadu directed officials to prepare the list of organizations, industries and construction agencies where the child labourers are employed.

He also directed to collect the compensation from the particular industrial unit where child labourers are employed. The compensation per child labour has been fixed as `20000.

Officials of Woman and Child Development Department, labour Department, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan and Tribal Welfare Department would be a part of the Committee.
