Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) and Deputy Collector Chandrakant Verma on the directives of Bastar District Electoral Officer and Collector Dr Ayyaz Tamboli seized various materials from the venue of a political meeting held at Anukuldev ward of Jagdalpur town for violation of election Model Code of Conduct.
As per information received, a political party was organising meeting without prior permission from the district authorities .
After Model Code of Conduct has been enforced, to organise any political meetings and rallies, prior permission has to be acquired from the concerned Nodal Officer.
Based on the information received of violation of Model Code of Conduct, Bodhghat Police In-charge was directed to take action against the organisers of political meeting. During the seizure of materials like tent and other items, Deputy Collector Chandrakant Verma and Sub Divisional Magistrate Praveen Verma were present.
