Displaying quick response and alertness, the District Crime Branch rounded up a youth and claimed of solving theft attempt at Allahabad Bank Durg branch within six hours of the crime being committed in the city. The accused was also involved in a theft incident at Dena Bank, Aadarsh Nagar Durg last year stated informed Superintendent of Police (SP) Durg Dr Anand Chhabda.
According to police the accused was identified as Salman alias Babu (19) resident of Kanhaiyapuri Chowk Kasaridih police station, Durg. “The accused had attempted to break into Allahabad Bank situated at Earavat complex, Padmnabhpur. However he could not find much in the bank,” said SP and added that the accused was indentified from the CCTV camera footage installed in bank.
Police further said the accused had entered into Allahabad Bank on Sunday morning. The accused also broke lock of a shop in same complex from where he took away mobile phone, credit card and silver coins. The accused last year had also broken into Dena Bank and was on the run since then, SP informed.
