The district court could issue orders for attachment of property of Joint Director of Industries GP Malviya who is still absconding in a 'molestation case'. The court has rejected anticipatory bail of the accused earlier.

After the accused went hiding police announced a reward on September 21 and have provided the status before the court which provides a time bracket till October 21 for the accused to surrender after which the court would issue orders for attachment of the property.

Section 83 of the CrPC empowers for the attachment of property of person absconding. Malviya was suspended by the Directorate of Industries on Monday.

Suspicion over the absconding accused has raised problems for his wife Vineeta Malviya who is posted as Additional Superintendent of Police at the State Police Headquarters as rumours of her helping the accused are growing but nothing concrete could be concluded.

Notably, on September 7 a case of molestation was registered against GP Malviya in the MP Nagar police station.

The victim who came to Bhopal preparing for CA entrance exam went to meet Malviya with her relative. In the office the accused started teasing her but the relative who went with her was not aware about the teasing.

later when the accused and victim went to drop victim's relative and was on their way to drop the victim Malviya molested the victim in the car near Board Office Square, told the police.

The reason of the visit was to seek help from accused in case of any emergency for the victim.

The Victim went to the MP Nagar police to lodge a complaint against the accused.

After the police registered a case under Section 354 of the IPC, the accused went missing.
