Amanaka police in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur brought here an absconding alleged fraud who hails from Amritsar, police said on Saturday.
The accused was produced in the court from where police had obtained the production warrant for arresting him from Amritsar jail, said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) City Vijay Agrawal.
Besides, producing the accused in the court to fulfill the obligations of the production warrant, police sought his further custody which was granted and the accused has been sent to police remand till March 10. The absconding fraudster Manjeet Singh Khalasa (50) had duped three dozen people of Tatibandh locality in Raipur worth Rs 1.20 crore on the pretext of providing job and education in Canada from November 2016.
