About 2 lakh postal ballots will be issued during the upcoming State Assembly election for the paramilitary forces, doctors and other Government employees engaged in the election duty, informed Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Suil Kujur addressing a Press conference on Saturday.

The CEO made it clear that transfers of those officers or employees, which have been ordered but not been executed till now will have to take permission from State election commission.

He also said that a blanket ban has been placed on transfers. To a query about transfer of officers in home district the CEO said “no officer should remain at one place for more than three years and they should not get posting in their home district. If we found such cases then defiantly we initiate necessary action” he said.

Informing about the use of Government guest houses he said the Government guest houses will not be available for political functionaries except those who have ‘Z plus’ and above security. “No other persons could use Government circuit house,” said CEO.

The Government could not release advertisements or make appointments from this point onwards, Kujur informed. To a question about removing of political banner posters he said that all the district administrations have been directed to remove political banner posters from their respective area. “I think by today night banner and posters would be removed,” Kujur asserted.

The State election commission is also keeping strict vigil on the movement of money, Joint CEO, DD Singh from State EC, Inspector General of police Himanshu Gupta along with income tax officers under mutual coordination are working to monitor the transfer of money, he maintained.

He also informed three types of teams have been formed in every constituency to monitor the elections. “One is expenditure monitoring team second is video surveillance and third is static mobile team,” CEO said. Voters could get their names added in voters list before the nomination filing works starts. So people could get their names before October 25, informed Kujur.

When asked about timing of election in sensitive polling booth, he said that it is yet to be decided. Over question of sensitive polling booths in state the CEO said only after the candidature of political parties are announced we would be able to tell the exact number of sensitive polling booths in Chhattisgarh.
