Chhattisgarh would stop getting step-motherly treatment as soon as the BJP forms the government led by Narendra Modi at the Centre, party’s lok Sabha candidate Abhishek Singh said on Tuesday.
Singh was meeting people in the villages coming under the Rajnandgaon lok Sabha constituency while on a hectic campaign tour that covered 20 villages on a single day in the constituency. He said that Chhattisgarh’s holistic development had been made possible not due to the Centre’s policies. Singh said that Chhattisgarh was denied its legitimate rights by the Congress-led UPA government which brought about a steep hike in prices of fertilizers and seeds for the State’s farmers.
The Centre did not provide funds for the extension of roads and put the State’s projects in cold storage, he said. The state-level leaders of the Congress party talk big when they roam in the State but ignore the Centre’s discrimination towards Chhattisgarh, Singh said.
He was visiting the villages of Karamtara, Chuikhadan, Sonesarar, Kirgi, Khurshipaar, Badagaon, Charbhanta, Badmum, Khujji, Mathdabari, Rangkathera, Chiddo, Jantar, Kokpur, Aasra, Adaam, Saginkachar, Khamera, Tilaikhar, Girgaon, Margaon, Devanbhedi, Dewanjhitia, Machanpaar and Tumdibpd coming under Dongargarh Assembly segment.
