A trail has now been upgraded to an all-weather road in Daundilohara region of the district.
It is known that in tribal-dominated Daundilohara region of Balod district, villagers had to depend on only one trail to go all the way from village Salhe to Dhotimatola through hilly and forested land. The uneven path caused inconvenience to villagers to walk all the way, especially during rainy seasons.
Five years back, in the weekly Jandarshan programme organized at Chief Minister Raman Singh’s residence on September 2009, a delegation of villagers led by the then Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Salhe met Chief Minister and conveyed the problems faced by villagers due to lack of proper road between the villages.
Singh immediately approved construction of all-weather road for the village under ‘Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana’.
As per the Chief Minister’s directives, construction of this nearly 2.5 km long road has been completed last month in June 2014 at the cost of Rs 1.12 crores. As a result, not only the villagers of Salhe Gram Panchayat but also the people of Dhotimatola, Hodekasa, Bheematola and Khemakhurd have got an all-weather road facility. Now the people from these villages do not face inconvenience in reaching nearby hospital, weekly market etc.
Dallirajhara is also situated near village Salhe. This all-weather road has made it easier for the villagers to reach the market in Dallirajhara and return home on time. This all-weather road has also unleashed ways of development for the villages.
