Nearly 8.30 lakh standard sacks of tendupatta have been collected in more than 10,000 collection centres under 916 primary forest cooperative societies of Chhattisgarh, officials informed.
From Bastar to Surguja, tendupatta from 31 forest division of the State is being collected. Incoming of maximum number of sacks i.e. 70, 000 standard sacks has been collected in Gariaband forest division.
Officials of Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Union limited Raipur informed that under Jagdalpur circle, 65 238 standard sacks of tendupatta have been collected in Bijapur forest division, 32 206 standard sacks in Sukma, 13 062 standard sacks in Dantewada, and 22 919 standard sacks have been collected in Jagdalpur. Under Kander circle, 19 839 standard sacks of tendupatta have been collected in South Kondagaon, 20 434 standard sacks in Narayanpur, 22 240 standard sacks in East Bhanupratappur, 45 557 standard sacks in West Bhanupratappur, and 30 274 standard sacks have been collected in Kanker. likewise in Durg circle, 48 294 standard sacks of tendupatta have been collected in Rajnandgaon, 23 799 standard sacks in Khairagarh, 19 725 standard sacks in Balod, 20 531 standard sacks in Kawardha. In Raipur circle, 24 455 standard sacks of tendupatta in Dhamtari, 69 912 standard sacks of tendupatta in Gariaband, 67 350 standard sacks in Mahasamund, 12 977 standard sacks in Balodabazar. Under Bilaspur circle, 15 736 standard sacks in Bilaspur forest division, 2259 standard sack in Marwahi, 5 807 standard sacks in Janjgir-Champa, 42 026 standard sacks in Raigarh, 47 508 standard sacks in Dharamjaigarh, 25 282 standard sacks in Korba, and 31 981 standard sacks of tendupatta leaves in Katghora. Under Surguja circle, 23 085 standard sacks of tendupatta have been collected in Jashpurnagar forest division, 4,000 standard sacks have been collected in Manendragarh, 12 220 standard sacks in Koriya 7 625 standard sacks in Surguja, 9051 standard sacks in Balrampur, 14 460 standard sacks of tendupatta have been collected in Surajpur till date.
The State had the target of collecting 16 ,71, 700 standard sacks of tendupatta in 2018 season, nearly 50% of which has already been achieved.
