Gole Bazaar police on Thursday arrested eight minors and seized 22 mobile phones worth Rs 1.80 lakh from their possession. Two persons who were trying to purchase stolen mobile phones from them were also arrested, police said.
According to police the accused all residents of Moudhapara are of age group between 10 to 17 years. “They were arrested in Ravi Bhawan,” informed officer investigating the case. The persons who were nabbed trying to purchase stolen mobile phone from the minors were identified as Mohammed Jamil (40) resident of Taz Nagar and Mukesh Mithwani (19) resident of Telibandha, police said.
Detailing the modus operandi of the accused minors’ police said the boys used to reach any shop and would then engage shop owner in talks and any one of them finding suitable time would swap away the mobile phone.
