The 73rd ‘Sanyaas Diwas’ of Jagatguru Shankracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati was celebrated by holding religious rituals and functions at the Jagatguru Shankracharya Ashram Boriyakala in Raipur on Sunday.
Dr Brahmachari Indubhavanand said in a statement that special rituals were held at the ashram to mark the 73rd ‘Sanyaas Diwas’ of Jagatguru Shankracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati.
In Indian spiritual tradition, there are four ‘ashrams’ in life: Brahmacharya, Grahastha, Vanaprastha and Sanyaas. Swamiji has completed 73 years of Sanyaas during which a person renounces the world.
Due to Paush month, rituals were organized by offering prayers to ‘Lord Suryanarayan’. Red Lotus was used for the offerings.
Sanskrit teacher Deepak Pandey and students organized all the rituals.
