As many as 73 head constables of the Police Wireless Department have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in the State.
Director General of Police (DGP) AN Upadhyay and other senior officers of police department installed stars on the shoulders of the promoted police officers at police headquarter here on Tuesday.
Upadhyay congratulated the officers and said that promotion will boost their morale and they will perform their duties with greater energy.
Among the promoted officers, some were those who had attained 61 years of age and were waiting for the promotion for long time. These promotions were pending for eight years, sources said.
The promotion orders for two posts of Inspector (Wireless), six posts of Sub Inspector (Wireless), nine posts of ASI (Wireless) and 80 posts of head constable (Wireless) will be issued in near future, sources said.
Among those present on the occasion were Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) RK Vij, Ravindra Bhedia, KC Agrawal, Dharmendra Garg, Rajshri Mishra, Sanjay Sharma, Susheel David, Sunil Kumar, Ram Mishra, Arun Gajpal and Pramod Gupta.
