Around 7,000 students from as many as 11 schools of Bastar district were taught how to prepare life saving ORS solution under the joint initiative of Chhattisgarh Shishu Academy and Mahavir International on Thursday.
ORS solution is very useful for the children suffering from diarrhoea, which is a common disease during monsoon. It helps to cope up from the problem of dehydration.Under the guidance of Bastar district programme officers, Shivnarain Chandak and Ramesh Jain, some students thought other children step-by-step process of preparing ORS solution.The experts informed that maximum number of children (age group 0-5 years) in the world die because of dehydration due to diarrhoea. life of such children can be saved with the help of ORS solution.
Both the organisations have taken the initiative to teach 51,000 children of the State the process of preparing ORS solution and sending this achievement in Golden Book of World Records.The students will be called ‘ORS Ambassadors.’
