Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar informed Chhattisgarh Assembly on Tuesday that a total of 63 diarrhoea deaths took place in 15 districts of the State during 2016-17.
In a written reply to Congress member Bholaram Sahu, the Minister said that in 2015-16, a total of 16 people died after contracting diahorrea. The maximum number of deaths took place in Surguja district at 13, he informed.
