Over 62 lakh women in Chhattisgarh have applied for the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, under which married women will get Rs 1,000 a month from March 1, an official communiqué said on Friday.
A provision of Rs. 117 crore has been made in the 2024–25 budget for this.
Married women domiciled in Chhattisgarh and aged above 21 as of January 1, 2024 are eligible along with widows, divorced and abandoned women.
Applications can be filed through Anganwadi Centres, Panchayats and Child Development Project offices as well as online portal https://www.mahtarivandan.cgstate.gov.in/ or via mobile app until February 20. The Chhattisgarh government is implementing Mahtari Vandan Yojana to promote women empowerment, the communique said.
