'5,064.61 ha of Agri land taken for industrial units'

Revenue Minister Prem Prakash Pandey on Friday informed the Chhattisgarh Assembly that a total of 5,064.61 hectares of agricultural land had been acquired for setting up industrial projects in Bastar and  Bilaspur divisions between 2008 and June 30, 2015.In a written reply to Congress member Bhupesh Baghel, the Minister informed that 484 hectares of land was acquired in Bastar division by the State Industry Department while in BiIaspur division-- 487.74 hectares in Korba district, 2019.80 hectares in Raigarh district and 1702.57 hectares in Janjgir-Champa district was acquired by the Industry Department. 

land measuring 271.29 hectares had been acquired by Madwa Tendubhata Thermal Power Project in Janjgir-Champa district, 60.50 hectares by NTPC ltd in Korba district, 14.21 hectares in Korba district by Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company ltd, 11.09 hectares by Spectrum Coal and Power ltd at Ratija in Korba district and 13.16 hectares by Shayamaprasad Mukherjee Thermal Power Station, Korba East—all in Bilaspur division, he said.
