In a rare punitive action against the police officials, State Government on Sunday terminated 42 cops on charges of non-performance.
According to information received from Police Headquarters, the State Government has terminated 42 police officials including 15 Station House Officers, 9 Sub Inspectors (SIs) and 18 Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs).
A decision to this effect was taken after going through their Confidential Reports (CR). The State Government recently had started scrutinising the CRs of police officials and had now taken this retaliatory decision.
