The Chhattisgarh government has sanctioned a budget of more than Rs 94,800 crores to provide water connection to around 42.54 lakh households in rural areas in the coming three years, it was announced on Saturday.
The water connection will be given by 2023 and the works will be completed under the Jal Jeevan Mission programme, Public Health and Engineering Department Minister Rudra Kumar Guru said in a press release.
The government has started finalizing the contractors to execute the works, he said.
Under this programme, high quality water tanks, laying of pipelines, home connection, installation of chlorinator and power pumps will be done, the Minister said.
