The Health Department identified 4,735 patients under the ‘Malaria Free Chhattisgarh’ drive across 21 districts, the government said on Tuesday. The patients were treated on the spot.
An official statement said that in seven districts of Bastar division, the drive commenced on June 15. It is the fourth phase for Bastar. It is the second phase in five districts of Surguja division.
Based on the success rate of Bastar and Surguja divisions, the government decided to include nine new districts in the drive.
Till date total 627,663 blood tests have been conducted across 21 districts.
The statement said the target is to cover 20.43 lakh people through blood tests to detect malaria.
