About 34.31 lakh quintals of rice had been allocated to the ration cardholders for the months of March and April under the Public Distribution System (PDS).
The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection in an official press release informed that the ration is meant for all the 27 districts of the State.
The other materials-salt, sugar, kerosene and grams in Scheduled Areas were released only for the
month of March.
The Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department in a circular instructed the District Collectors to allocate rice to Antyodaya, Priority and Physically Handicapped ration card-holders for both the months in March itself. The beneficiaries should be informed with various
forms of publicity. They can avail of the rations as per their convenience.
