Chhattisgarh Gramudyog minister Guru Rudra Kumar during a state-level review meeting announced to provide 30% rebate on khadi dress materials from October 2 to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Earlier, the rebate was of 25%.
Minister during the meeting also ordered to suspend Handloom division assistant director Durg after difference was found in status and physical verification provided by the official.
In the review meeting cocoon collection, family members, working reeling machine, spinning machine, purchase of tussar eggs for beneficiaries, silk thread, mulberry-seed research centre and other aspects were discussed district-wise. Minister instructed to expand the production to create more employment in the sector.
Direction was given to prepare a plan for inclusion of industries for more investment in traditional handicrafts and to impart training to youth. The publicity of exhibitions should be done and it should be done in planned matter, the minister directed.
The minister asked officials to make proposal for construction of a new building in Chhattisgarh Haat Bazar. Various related schemes were also reviewed.
