Under State Government’s Public Distribution System (PDS), nearly 26.89 lakh quintals of ration stock has been allotted to fair price shops of all 27 districts of the State for distribution in September month, officials said.
The ration stock allotted by Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Protection Department includes 21.31 lakh quintals of rice, 2.45 lakh quintals of wheat, 1.27 lak quintals of iodized salt, 73, 822 quintals of pulses, 61,954 quintals of sugar and 50, 089 quintals of gram.
This stock will be distributed to the ration cardholder beneficiaries of antyoday, priority and general category, in the month of September. Moreover, mid-day meal, supplementary nutritious meal, welfare societies, hostels and Dal-Bhat centres will also be supplied ration from this stock.
Department officials informed that from the allotted stock of ration, nearly 20.21 lakh quintals of rice will be distributed to ration cardholders of various categories, 73,960 quintals of rice will be allotted for Mid-day meal programme, hostels will be provided to 15,286 quintals of rice, nearly 10,374 quintals of rice will be supplied to welfare societies, 9,765 quintals of rice will be provided for supplementary nutritious meal and 280 quintals of rice will be allotted to Dal-Bhat centres.
likewise, 2.9 lakh quintals of wheat will be distributed to ration cardholders of priority and general category, 35,463 quintals of wheat will be provided for supplementary nutritious meal and 175 quintals of wheat will be supplied to hostels while 172 quintals of wheat will be allotted to welfare societies.
