As many as 26 nominations were withdrawn by the candidates on Monday — the last day for withdrawing nominations for the first phase of Assembly polls in the State.
As a result, 143 candidates are now left in the poll fray out of the total 169 in Chhattisgarh for the first phase of elections with the withdrawal of nominations, State Chief Electoral Officer Sunil Kujur informed reporters here.
