The State Government has allotted more than 21.18 lakh quintals of PDS rice for the current month for all the 27 districts of the State, officials stated. According to Food Civil Supply and Consumer Protection Department officials, 19,76,110 quintals rice had been allotted for ration card holders of different categories, 82,956 rice for Mid-day meals, 25,261 quintals for student hostels, 23,991 quintals for Anganwadi centres, 9,324 quintals for various welfare organisations and 556 quintals for Daal Bhat centres.
last month, about 19.89 lakh quintals of rice was allocated to ration card holders under PDS. The Government allocated 14.2 lakh quintals of rice to priority families among the ration card holders, 5,51,953 quintals to Antodaya families, 31,186 quintals to general category families, 2,996 quintals to the dependent families and 870 quintals to the differently abled families.
