Maoists blew up railway tracks and damaged a dozen sleepers of DN line near Telo railway station under the Dhanbad rail division, shortly after midnight on Wednesday-Thursday. The incident occurred around 2.30 am. There are no reports of any casualty as no one was present nearby area during the blast. The Maoists act disrupted the rail traffic on the Gomoh-Barkakana route for 6 hours .The traffic on the route was disrupted till 7.30 am on Thursday on the up and down line,” said railway sources.
The impact of the blast was quite severe .About five meters of the Down track got twisted and bumped up five feet. The OHE (Over Head Equipment) too got damaged, leading to the stranding all passangers and goods trains on the Gomoh-Barkakana section. About 30 to 50 CPI (Maoists) guerrillas raided the Telo railway station,near Jamunia bridge ,under the Dhanbad rail division around 1 am on Thursday and had planted a landmine near pole no 4/22 on the UP, railway track, between Gomoh-Telo railway station and triggered a blast through a detonator kept about 50 meters away in a nearby forest, sources said .
Railway officials sources say repairs are on .But complete traffic had been restored late this afternoon DN, trains for Barkakana would run as scheduled after 8 am, confirmed Railway officials. The Chanderpura RPF and GRP arrived at the spot only after the rebels had left. The ultras shouted antipolice slogans and left a pamphlets owning responsibility for the explosion.
A combing operation has been launched in the area to nab the ultras .Heavy reinforcement of the district police ,the GRP ,and the RPF had been deputed at Telo railway station .Earlier Bokaro and Dhanbad police top officials arrived at the spot and took stock of the situation. Several trains remained stranded at different places and movement on the CIC section was restored by single line service .However, the movement would be normalised by both UP and DN late in this afternoon, railway sources said. About two month ago ,the CPI (Maoist) activists had targeted railway track near the Bokaro railway station.
