At least two Maoist insurgents were arrested in separate search operations carried out by police in Naxal-infested Kanker district of Bastar. The arrested insurgents were identified as Chamar Singh Boga (30), a resident of Rasoli village under Bhanupratappur police station and Shivlal Dugga (27), a resident of Koyepara village, Superintendent of police Kanker RN Dash informed on Monday.
He said Chamar Singh was instrumental in writing and throwing pamphlets of Maoists. Dash was also a key village resource person of Naxals. On various occasions, the police had tried to nab the person to break the village network of Naxals.
“He is an important catch and police are hopeful that with his arrest, there will be positive development in the area,” he added. Dugga was wanted in five permanent warrants issued against him by local court. He was involved in serious criminal incidents such as murder, attempt to murder, abduction and handling arms, Dash said.
