A hardcore Naxal was arrested during search operation carried out in a forested patch under Koilibeda police station of insurgency infested Kanker district , police said on Sunday.
The arrested Naxal was President of Keshckodi Jantana Sarkar–one of the offshoots of banned organisation Communist Party of India (Maoist), informed Superintendent of Police, Kanker, RN Dash.According to the SP, a joint team of District Force and Border Security Force (BSF) had started on a search operation from Koilibeda police station. While carrying out search in the jungles of Keshckodi, they spotted a person moving suspiciously who tried to run away but was chased and nabbed,the SP said.The held person was later identified as Shantlal Mandavi alias Shantilal (35) resident of Keshckodi village of Koilibeda police station, Dash said.The insurgent was also involved in several serious criminal incidents such as attempt to murder, brawl, handling deadly arms, dacoity and loot, he informed.
