Body of 50-year-old woman found
Raipur: Body of a 50-year-old woman was found under the limits of Neora Police station, on Wednesday. The woman was strangulated, police said. According to police the victim was identified as Kanti Bai Dewangan (50) wife of Ramlal Dewangan resident of Khapri village under Neora police station. The deceased used to live alone and her only son use to work out of village in some hotel. “The deceased was seen in village for the last time on Saturday and later her body was found lying in a farm land between Simga and Khapri. Strangulation marks were seen on the neck of the deceased person,” informed police officer investigating the case. A case in this connection has been registered with Neora police station.
three arrested in cheating case
Raipur: Three persons have been arrested in connection with a cheating case of Rs 10.75 lakh. The accused were arrested from West Bengal and have been brought Raipur on transit remand, police said on Wednesday. According to police the accused had cheated a glass hardware businessman of Raipur to the tune of 10.75 lakh through fraudulent e-mail by taking benefit of good-faith between the businessman and his goods supplier based in Chennai. The victim Jitendra Sajid had lodged a report in this connection with Moudhapar police station. Police during the course of investigation had rounded up the accused. Police informed that the accused were identified as Jhagendra Kumar Modak (44), Devdutt Rai (40) and Surjeet Malik (40) all native of 24 Pargana district of West Bengal.
