Congress leaders desirous of ticket for Assembly polls made a beeline to the Mohan Nagar located house of All India Congress Committee Treasurer Motilal Vora Monday as soon as the senior leader reached Durg. Vora was on the state visit to participate in the ‘Kalash Yatra’ which commenced from Dongargarh Monday. He was accompanied by Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee acting president Chanrandas Mahant.

Though, Vora remained at his house only for a short period but during his stay he was surrounded by followers all the time as a number of leaders were there to seek tickets for themselves for the Vidhan Sabha polls due later this year.

After five minutes of his arrival Vora left for Dongargarh but in that period some Congress leaders and TA trainees met him. In the evening, Vora returned from Dongargarh around 4 pm and by that time large number of party leaders and workers had reached his residence. To meet him leaders of Bemetara and Balod districts also had come.

Important among those who met Vora were MlAs Tamradhwaj Sahu, Bhajan Singh Nirankari,, Bhilai Mayor Nirmala Yadav, District Panchayat member Devlal Thakur, Shahar Congress president R N Verma, former Mayor Shankarlal Tamrakar, Madan Jain, Dr Rajendra Dwivedi, corporator Altaf Ahmad, Dev Kumar Janghel, Raj Kumar Narayani, Nita lodhi, Vijay Yadav and others.

Notably, Congress is finding itself in a difficult situation as a large number of its office bearers are demanding ticket for the Assembly poll scheduled later this year and are lobbying. The party is also fighting a brutal factionalism result of which was apparent in the results of bypolls held for Keshkal and Bagbahara nagar panchayats recently.
