Raipur City Congress President Vikas Upadhyaya has alleged that an estimated 20,000 ration card holders in the city are not receiving food grains.
In a statement here, Upadhyaya stated that a memorandum had been submitted to the Raipur District Collectors with an 'ultimatum' of act in the next two days. He said that the Government during the last five years did work on getting different types of ration cards made which had seven different colours in the beginning then five and now three different colours. Updhyaya said that despite getting so many different ration cards made, there are still irregularities as those cards which were renewed were not issued as BPl cards.
He said that only rice is available in the ration shops without having stocks of sugar, oil and ‘Chana’ (Gram). Updhayaya said that on one hand the CM talks about development and on the other hand, people are not getting food grains in the ration shops.
