He had laid special emphasis on designing of the various schemes and had directed the officials to complete the schemes within the deadline and ensure quality of housing construction .

For the convenience of the CGHB’s housing scheme beneficiaries, Sawanni urged the officials to solve their problems at the earliest.

The CGHB is also mulling over plans to develop its infrastructure of colonies covering landscape, garden, sports and plantation.

Notably, CGHB will be constructing as many as 40000 houses in Naya Raipur under an affordable scheme.

Of the 40,000 houses to be constructed involving an expenditure of expenditure of `3500 crore, 20,000 houses will be constructed for economically weaker sections, 10000 houses for lIG-A and 10000 for lIG-B category.

CGHB is committed to ensure facilities to families falling under economically weaker sections and under this move, the Board will be constructing 40000 houses under Mukhyamantri Awaas Yojana, stated Minister for Housing and Environment Rajesh Munat last year.

The Minister had further informed that the State government will give grant of `1 lakh for each houses falling under EWS category while Rs 50000 grant for lIG houses. For this, the Chhattisgarh government is going to provide total grant of `357 crore.

As per information received from officials of CGHB, houses with carpet area of 27 square meters will be constructed for EWS category whereas 40 square meter has been fixed for lIG-A and 60 square meter for lIG-B.

Under this scheme, the Naya Raipur Development Authority is going to provide land with of `1 square per square feet. The cost of houses will be `4 lakh from single EWS house (excluding grant), `7 lakh for lIG-A (excluding grant) and `10 lakh for lIG-B (excluding grant).

Incidentally, CGHB had been utilising advanced and cost effective RCC Precast technology for constructing houses under Mukyamanti Awas Yojana (Chief Minister Housing Scheme).

The Precast technology is a globally recognised process through which concrete is cast into a mould and then transported to the construction site for use, officials stated. The project comprises development of 4048 lIG and 2328 EWS flats besides other infrastructural facilities in Naya Raipur region.

The Chhattisgarh Government has set a target of constructing nearly 42,000 houses under Indira Awas Yojana in the State, officials stated. Moreover, the State government provided approvals for construction of 1.34 lakh housing units for the economically weaker sections during the past three years. As a result, out of `424 crore available fund for construction of the housing units, a sum of `309.19 crore had already been spent for construction of 88,654 housing units.
