Two teachers of Delhi Public School (DPS), Raipur, Alpana Bajpai and Jyoti Nair departed for Hounsdown Science College, Southampton, UK recently for a 10-day Teachers’ Exchange Programme.
As a part of mutual partnership between both the schools that commenced seven years ago, two teachers from both the nations have been visiting the country alternatively to orient themselves with the teaching technologies, techniques and other socio-cultural manifestations that the schools have embodied to teach their students, a DPS press release informed.
Alpana Bajpai, being a faculty of Hindi, coached the British students with Hindi phonetics while Jyoti Nair infused the principles of Vedic Mathematics to expedite and simplify calculations. They also trained the children in Indian forms of dancing, cookery and Rangoli which was unanimously appreciated and enthusiastically learnt, a DPS press release informed.
As observed by these visiting teachers, an initiative to save birds by the Eco-club students of DPS, Raipur, an ongoing project since 2010, is an undertaking on which the students of Hounsdown College, U.K have been dedicated to work on.
Meanwhile, another project to counter air pollution embarked upon by UK students is also underway, which the DPS students had registered their protocol and interest in as soon as students and teachers exchange program was earmarked to commence.
Together they are expected to present their awareness agenda by October, 2018 and February 2019 when students exchange program would be underway.
