The State Social Welfare Department will be organising a two-day workshop on the topic of ‘SRS’ (Sex Reassignment Surgery) for Third Gender Community on September 29 and 30 at new circuit house in the city.
The workshop will be held from 10 am to 5.30 pm on both the days. A number of SRS Specialists from all over the country, doctors and psychologists of Chhattisgarh from this field, department officials concerned and people of third gender community will take part in this workshop to be organised in association with Chhattisgarh State AIDS Control Society (Family and Health Welfare Department).
Social Welfare Department officials said that Managing Director of Chennai-based Centre for Health Research Centre Dr Venkateshan Chakrapani, Dr Jayarman Reddy of Kilalap Medical College Chennai and Managing Director of Psychiatrist Arjikar Medical College Kolkata Dr Ananday Rai will be present in this workshop.
These experts will train Chhattisgarh doctors so SRS facility could be started in the State soon.
