Two jawans of the Special Task Force (STF) were injured during an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district late night on June 2, a senior police officer informed on Sunday.
The injured jawans were admitted to a private hospital in Raipur for treatment. Sukma is one of the worst Naxal-hit districts of Chhattisgarh where leftist militants have executed several deadly blasts in recent years mainly targeting the police and para-military personnel deployed for anti-Naxal operations.
Meanwhile officials at police headquarters in Raipur informed that cops tasked to wipe out insurgents in Sukma, have been instructed to launch fresh major offensive against armed militants who are hiding in forests of Dornapal, Injeram and Bhejji pockets in the district.
