Infighting in Chhattisgarh unit of Congress party has come to fore over addressing press conferences in Congress Bhawan here.
Angry over arranging another press conference well before them, the two Working Presidents of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC), Shiv Daharia and Ramdayal Uikey along with President of Tribal Wing Shishupal Sori refused to hold their press conference at the eleventh hour on Friday.
The press conference of Working Presidents was already planned and media was informed a day before but when they reached the Congress Bhawan they saw that Member of Parliament Chhaya Verma was already taking a press conference well before them. The media was not informed about the press conference of Verma. This became bone of contention between the leaders and Daharia, Uikey and Sori got angry.
Angry over the matter, Daharia, Uikey and Sori left the Congress Bhawan informing the media persons that “now Chairman Communication Wing Shailesh Nitin Trivedi will brief them what they want to say”. Trivedi tried his level best apologizing before them but the leaders didn’t listen to him.
Trivedi later also expressed regret before the media for boycott of the press conference and said that there was a kind of misunderstanding between him and the leaders.
